The method of detonation based on the nuclear reaction is called nuclear weapon or Atom Bomb. Their formation can be either one of the nuclear fission or one of the nuclear fusions. Both these reaction release a lot of energy in a quantity. In compare to normal explosions and modern explosions are more powerful. It can also be understood that 1000kg of atom bomb is equal to the million of explosive material.
Nuclear weapon was named as the most powerful explosive at the time in the 2nd world war. It was named as Blockbuster. 11 ton Trinitrotoluene(TNT) is used to made it. At that time it was considered as the most dangerous explosive, but no one can imagine that even dangerous atom bomb can be made. When the first atom bomb exploded, it was 2000 times more powerful from the Blockbuster. It is believed that this explosion was similar to the blast of 22000 times of Trinitrotoluene(TNT).
Now the atom bomb in existence is more powerful from that atom bomb. To understand atom bomb, first of all we need to read to these things:
Atom bomb is made up of electron, and neutrons neutrons are connected to each other and the binding of them is done by nuclear bond energy, we also call it Binding Energy. When the amount of neutrons exceeds that of protons, such atoms are formed as isotopes of that element and such atoms are called unstable atom. In unstable atom the Electrostatic force is more than Binding Energy. Atom always wants to get from unstable state to stable state and so that kind of unstable atom releases energy which we call Quanta. When atom release that kind of quantum packets energy so they are called Radioactive.
Elements with an atomic mass of 83 or more are often radioactive elements. Due to excessive electrostatic forces in Uranium, the nucleus becomes so stretched that the binding energy stops working and in this situation the nucleus break down and we call it Nucleus fission. Nuclear fission or Nuclear fusion release large amount of energy. Use this energy for destruction in atom bomb.
Atom bomb has two materials, Uranium and Plutonium, due to which explosion occurs. Atom fission would have taken place in both these materials this releases energy. In order to perform this explosion, Neutron are attacked in the atom center. This attack is so powerful that more energy released. It was Nuclear fission. Neutron after fission of one atom move to another atom, Neutron are released in fission. Which again disintegrates the nearby Nucleus, and thus fission of the atom in a single form, the chain reaction turns into a Catastrophic. We also call the chain reaction of this fragmentation.
In today's science the atomic mass of Uranium is found to be 99.3% on earth such as U-238 and its presence is only 0.7% on earth. U-235 is the only natural nucleus that can easily fission. Due to high demand, it is used like fuel in the atom reactors atom bomb contains explosive form in it. Pt-239 also plays its role in fission. Another action required for the same atom fission which is called Critical Moss. Minimum critical moss is needed to run a chain of attacks from a neutron to an atom. Nagasaki- Nagasaki bomb was rounder and thicker, so it is called Fat man. U-239 was used in it. It had released about 21000(TNT) of energy.
